Quata Blann ready for the big times
OVER the years, Clarendon has produced several well-known recording artistes. The list includes The Clarendonians, Millie Small, Barrington Levy, Freddie McGregor, Cocoa Tea, Toots Hibbert, and Derrick Morgan.
Deejay Quata Blann is hoping to strike similar success, having recently released the songs Anything, Wifey, and Bruka featuring Chilando.
Despite the challenges that he has in reaching , Quata Blann is determined. He believes his love for music has been his inspiration.
“My journey has been hard and complicated, as in, to get accepted by the fans, but at the same time, it has been enjoyable. Because of the love I have for music, I will not complain,” said Quata Blann.
Quata Blann made his recording debut with the song Every Gal for the late Patrick “Roach” Samuels. Since then, the artiste — whose real name is Shawn Cheddon —has continued in his pursuit for musical excellence.
“I started doing music professionally in 2007. What makes me stand out is the fact that I am bringing new topics, flows and a new sound. I will definitely try my best to keep it up,” said Quata Blann.
Anything, which was released a few months ago, is accompanied by a music video. It is reportedly gaining traction in markets outside of Jamaica, specifically in Africa.
Wifey was released a few weeks ago.
Quata Blann is currently working with Ying Yang Records, Show Di Vybz Records, and Team Toxic Entertainment.
