Two murdered in separate incidents in Westmoreland
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Detectives in the Savanna-la-Mar are investigating the murder of two men and the shooting injury of a man and a woman in separate incidents in Westmoreland on Saturday.
In the first incident, 18-year-old Stefan Beckford, otherwise called ‘Rico’, of Hudson Avenue in the parish and a female relative were shot by unknown assailants about 8:30 pm.
The two were reportedly with other family members when armed men gained entry to the house and opened fire hitting them both.
They were taken to hospital where Beckford was pronounced dead and the woman admitted. Then, about an hour later, three armed men opened gunfire at patrons at a bar on Meylers Avenue in the parish.
Two men were found with gunshot wounds after the attack.
They were taken to hospital where 33-year-old Kemar Thomas was pronounced dead. The other man was admitted.
Investigations continue.
