Father disarms son, hands over homemade gun to police
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A homemade shotgun was turned over to the police following a dispute between a father and his son in Old Harbour yesterday.
The weapon and two 12 gauge cartridges were handed over by the father, the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said.
Reports from the Old Harbour police are that about 7:00 am, the father and his son had a dispute when a firearm was brought into play, following which a struggle ensued between the two.
CCU said the father got hold of the firearm and subsequently handed it over the police.
The lawmen did not mention the whereabouts of his son.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
