Sandals Resorts International team members get taste of ‘Sweet Jamdung’

Team members at Sandals Resorts International were on Friday treated to an afternoon of fun, culture and amazing food, as the company hosted its pre-independence celebrations dubbed ‘Sweet Jamdung’.

The event featured performances by the Sunshine Mento Band and the Descendants of Africa drumming and dancing group, an appetizing buffet line, with traditional favourites like ackee and saltfish and roast yam and saltfish.

Team members also had the opportunity to compete in a variety of competitions, including an exciting scavenger hunt, which tested team members’ knowledge of Jamaican traditions and beliefs; an exciting folk song competition and a keenly-contested ‘Sweet Jamdung’ fashion show, which saw participants showing off their creative outfits.
