WIPA congratulates West Indies Men on Test Series win over Sri Lanka

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) is congratulating the West Indies Men’s Test team on their 1-0 series victory over Sri Lanka.

Describing the victory where the West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 217 runs in the first Test as commendable, WIPA President and CEO, Wavell Hinds said:

“Congratulations to the West Indies team, management, and staff, on winning the Test series vs Sri Lanka, and congratulations to the stand-out individual performers. We recognise and salute your efforts and success, and look forward to continued good returns.”

The victory came on the back of a double century (233) from Amir Jangoo and a record 6th-wicket partnership (401) between Jangoo and captain Roston Chase (194). Subsequently, West Indies brought the second Test to a draw, with Justin Greaves scoring 180 in West Indies’ first innings, partnering with Shai Hope (112) for 242 runs.
