RACE 1 — MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT (THREE-YEAR-OLD FILLIES) 1000METRES/5FURLS.ROUND

A foal of two-time Horse-of-the-Year Saint Cecelia, Sea Swan prepared exceptionally well and showed a lot of ability in her workouts. Did absolutely nothing wrong and left the gates sharply to dominate the early fractions. She showed no sign of greenness in the home stretch and delivered an impressive 10-length win in an auspicious debut. Certainly Sea Swan is one to follow in the future.

RACE 2 — RESTRICTED STAKES (THREE-YEAR-OLDS) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS ROUND

Another Vigorous led on the bridle from early with Dee Danger strongly ridden on his inside to keep pressure on the leader early. Once again, Nuclear Flight was not alert at the start, but made ground quickly to be a close-up third at the top of the stretch. Dee Danger found nothing extra and left Another Vigorous in front with a comfortable lead in the upper stretch, which was extended to four and a half lengths over Nuclear Flight at the wire. Oneil Scott, who rode Another Vigorous, did an admirable job as he contained the tear-away speed of his mount, allowing him to have more in the stretch drive. The hope now is for Another Vigorous to improve and push on to the top rung, certainly among the sprinters.

RACE 3 — $120,000 CLAIMING (4-YEAROLDS&UPWARDS) 400METRES/2FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Beast veered a little left on leaving the gates and that allowed Camouflage to dispute the lead easier. Machu Picchu broke well to be close up, while Song On Track was not as alert as is customary. Camouflage and Beast sprinted together with the former prevailing close home to secure victory by a half a length.

Seems we are having more and more of these short races these days as we are apparently moving closer and closer to developing a quarter horse racetrack.

RACE 4 — RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE V (4-YEAR-OLDS&UP/NW2) 1100 METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

Favourite Uncle Wal and well-fancied Chrisanli went clear early and disputed the lead into the home straight. None of the other starters looked likely to get on terms with the leaders, and Chrisanli proved stronger to beat Uncle Wal by two and a half lengths with Fourthousand’s late rush securing third a couple of lengths further back.

RACE 5 — RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II (5-YEAR-0LDS&UP/NW3) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

My Angel Brianna and Sweet Destiny set the early pace, pressed by Prince Sammo and Top Eagle with Sharp Skirt held up just behind. The four front-runners got tired with 200 metres left in the race as Sharp Skirt assumed the lead inside the last 150 metres but failed to stay ahead the strong late burst of Reassurance.

RACE 6 — MAIDEN CONDITION (THREE-YEAR-OLDS) 1300METRES/6 1/2FURLONGS

Young Boy Eddy was quick to establish a clear lead before any other rival had even coupled up and held it into the home straight. Caught by winner Anwar approaching the distance, Young Boy Eddy was beaten by five lengths but was four lengths clear of third placed Danceallnight. This was only the second time Young Boy Eddie was facing the starter and has now stripped much fitter and, therefore, should be watched carefully when he races again.

RACE 7 — OVERNIGHT ALLOWANCE (3-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLS.

Sir Budget and Peking Cruz along with Lunar Rocket sprinted together to the top of the home stretch, with Polly B tracking in fourth and on the bridle. Improving three-year-old Peking Cruz went clear easily 300 metres from the finish and beat Polly B by five and a half lengths. Peking Cruz has now reached the Open Allowance level where he is going to prove a handful even for the more established runners in that class. Watch the development of Peking Cruz closely.

RACE 8 — RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II (3-YEAR-OLDS/NW2) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

In what was reminiscent of a cavalry charge Empress Nicole, Isinbayeva and Master Of Hall headed the compact field at the top of the home stretch. Empress Nicole defended the lead from all threatening pursuers, while Elal had difficulty twice in finding space. Neither could he repel the finishing speed of former Classic aspirant Gift Of Law as she sped by the front-runners close home to score by a length and a half from Empress Nicole and Elal.

RACE 9 — $550-500,000 CLAIMING (3-YEAR-OLD&UPWARDS) 1600METRES/8FURLONGS

Stir It Up was allowed the lead early by Deal Marker with Winter Is Coming a close third and travelling well. With 850 metres to run, the rider of Winter Is Coming, seemingly trying to go through a gap on the rails, had to pull back as the space did not exist and lost valuable real estate. Deal Marker, the leader in the upper stretch, soon gave way to Winter Is Coming with Hey Champ running on strongly. A fierce battle for the major portion of the prize money ensued with Hey Champ prevailing by a short head over the unlucky Winter Is Coming.

RACE 10 — $180,000 CLAIMING (4-YEAROLDS&UPWARDS) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

Play Station and Court Call with Shellian Grey close up were early into the gallop. Always going best, Play Station turned for home well on top and beat Original Train by nearly four lengths with Flying Miracle in third seven lengths further adrift.
