Police assure heightened presence during Observer’s Take Style Out
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is assuring members of the public that adequate security coverage will be provided for people wishing to participate in the Jamaica Observer’s “Take Style Out” on Thursday, October 4.
The JCF’s assurance comes amidst a State of Public Emergency (SOPE) that was implemented on Sunday, September 23 and should be in place for at least 14 days.
According to the police, the main shopping areas within St Andrew have not been impacted by the SOPE, as also key shopping areas in downtown Kingston.
The police are therefore encouraging shoppers to “go out and enjoy the evening’s activities without fear” as they will be “out in their numbers providing heightened presence throughout the period”.
