MONTEGO BAY, St James — It was an especially happy morning for team members at the Sandals Resorts International headquarters on Tuesday last as they were treated to a special breakfast served to them by some of the the company’s top executives.

Deputy chairman Adam Stewart, chief Executive officer Gebhard Rainer, chief operations officer Shawn DaCosta and director of corporate services Jeremy Jones donned aprons and hair nets to serve up warm smiles and hearty portions of traditional Jamaican breakfast to the team.

At the company’s procurement division, group director, procurement division, Jordan Samuda; group warehouse manager Iron Noble; group purchasing manager — resort operations Christopher Malcolm; corporate controller – procurement and cost control, Kirk Hudson; and group manager – revenue purchasing, Sophia McKenzie, also assumed server duties and treated the team to breakfast.

From ackee and saltfish and escovietched fish to steamed vegetables, fried breadfruit, fried dumplings, hominy corn porridge, an assortment of fruits and much more, team members were delighted by the offerings and the change in pace, and even more delighted to interact with the executives in a “different way”.

Renae Perry, concierge agent at the company’s Kent Avenue head office, summed up the sentiments of all.

“It was great to have something outside the norm. The variety of food provided was good, the service was good, and our directors and executives did a great job. We definitely would want more of this,” said Perry.

Speaking on behalf of the executives, Stewart expressed pleasure at being able to host and participate in such an activity.

“We never lose sight of the fact that our company’s successes are due to the hard work and dedication of our team, and so any occasion, big or small, that allows us to show our gratitude and connect with our team members is one we are happy to participate in. Our schedules don’t always allow us an abundance of time, but I am happy we could all be here today to serve the team and to show our appreciation for everything they do”, he explained.
