62-y-o British man charged for cocaine at NMIA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Detectives from the Narcotics Division say they arrested and charged a 62-year-old British man following the seizure of four kilograms of cocaine worth approximately J$5 million at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Wednesday, November 7.
Charged is Lloyd Hewitt of a London, England address.
Reports are that Hewitt was in the process of boarding a flight destined for London about 6:45 pm when security checks of his luggage were conducted. During the search the drug, concealed in coffee and seasoning packets, was found. He was taken into police custody and charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
Hewitt is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, November, 15.
