MONTEGO BAY, St James — Cornwall College continued their unbeaten run in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Western Conference Boys’ basketball competition beating York Castle in both Under-16 and Under-19 games at Cornwall College on Friday.

The Under-16 team won 65-44 to chalk up their fourth victory and take over the lead ahead of defending champions Herbert Morrison, while the Under-19s won 54-37 for their third win and joined Herbert Morrison in the lead on the points table.

Also on Friday, Rhodes Hall and William Knibb Memorial shared wins; Rhodes Hall won the Under-19 game 46-32, but William Knibb Memorial took the Under-16 game on walk over.

In the Under-16 section, Cornwall College lead with eight points, two more than Herbert Morrison, with York Castle and William Knibb Memorial tied on four points, followed by St James High on three points, Holland High and Muschett High on two each, and Rhodes Hall on one point.

In the Under-19 section, Herbert Morrison Technical, the reigning national champions, and Cornwall College, are tied on six points, followed by York Castle and William Knibb Memorial on four each. Holland High and Rhodes Hall are on three each with Muschett High at the foot of the tables on one point.

On Friday, in the Under-19 game at Cornwall College, Kenrick Brown and Omar Campbell both had triple-doubles to lead the home team to a comfortable 17-point win over the St Ann-based school.

Brown had a game-high 25 points, 10 assists and 13 steals, while Campbell scored 19 points and had 11 assists and 12 steals as Cornwall College led from start to finish.

Cornwall College led 10-6 after the first quarter and were up 27-11 at half-time, before York Castle cut into the lead at the end of the third quarter, trailing by 10 points 34-24.

Cornwall, however, re-established their dominance in the fourth quarter to win by 17 points.

Reuel Richards scored 11 points and had five rebounds for York Castle, while Ihejah Clarke scored eight points and had five rebounds.

In the Under-16 game, Romario Senior scored a game-high 28 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Cornwall College to a 21-point win as they led by three points (13-10) after the first quarter, but increased their lead to double digits 29-17 at half time and were up by 16 points (43-27) going into the fourth quarter.

Rushane Francis also scored eight points and had five assists for Cornwall College as Lennon Richards kept York Castle in the game with 21 points while Joash Brown scored nine points.

At Rhodes Hall, the home team rallied from a half-time deficit to score their first win in the Under-19 section as Javani Davis led with a double-double 12 points and 13 rebounds, while holding William Knibb Memorial to just nine second half points.

The teams were tied at 11-11 at the end of the first quarter, but William Knibb edged into a two-point lead (23-21) at half-time.

Rhodes Hall, however, took over the game in the third quarter and opened up an 11-point lead (37-26) and held on to win.

Omardo Brown also scored nine points and had seven rebounds for Rhodes Hall and Daniel Cameron scored nine points and had 11 rebounds.

Kimani Rose had a double-double for William Knibb with 15 points and 10 rebounds, with Kevaughn Hill scoring eight points.
