Boscobel, Mango Valley clash in St Mary Boscobel Premier League
Boscobel Warriors and Mango Valley Lions will meet in the feature match of the Costly Construction-sponsored St Mary Boscobel Premier League at the Boscobel Oval today.
In the opening encounter, Top Pen Giants go up against Port Maria Turbos.
The feature match promises to be an even encounter, with defending champions Boscobel looking to Tyrone Daley, Maurice Harrow, Robert Weir and Jason Goldon to lead them to victory, while their opponents will have Alando Robinson, Durrent Whyte and Milton Mills as their main stars.
Top Pen will be banking on the dangerous Antony Walters, Orlando Lyons and Captain Jermaine Chisholm, but will find Tszwayne Creary and company a tough nuts to crack.
In last week’s action at the same venue, Port Maria defeated Boscobel by nine wickets. Batting first, Boscobel made 107 for nine in a match reduced to 15 overs. Top batsmen were Herman Henry 49 and Delroy Patterson 18, against Tezwayne Creary two for 11 and Deron Royal two for 24. Port Maria, in their reply, made 111 for one of 13.4 overs with Creary unbeaten on 49 and Ranville Brown 46.
In the other match, Jacks River were all out for 85 with female player Carla Cohen top-scoring with 19 not out and Tevaugh Williams 12, against Antony Walters four for 13. Top Pen replied with 87 for three off 8 overs, thanks to Walters 35 and Jermaine McEachron 16.
