Playing games with JusKim
Newcomer JusKim honed her musical chops while attending the Central Village Church of God of Prophecy. The experience prepared her for a professional career in music.
“Music has been a source of motivation for me, to overcome the obstacles I have faced. I do not limit myself, but I believe that all things are attainable with the right level of persistence and motivation,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
JusKim is currently promoting the song Game of 2. It is produced by Dre Day.
“ Game of 2 was inspired by a former boyfriend of mine. It’s basically my perspective from the type of relationship that we had,” she said.
After graduating from the Edith Dalton James High school, JusKim (given name Kimberly Morrison) pursued an Associate Degree in Business Administration at the Excelsior Community College. Her musical journey took on a more serious route in 2009 when she wrote and recorded her first song I Can’t Let Go.
“What I bring to the table musically is myself. I am original and true to self. I am also creative and I bring love to the music,” said JusKim.
Originally from Kingston, she currently resides in Portmore, St Catherine. Like most new talent, she has faced struggles along the way.
“It’s been challenging and one could easily get demotivated. Most times, no one readily takes you serious or wants to give you the first chance but I have learned a lot and will continue to learn and make the best of every experience. I do music for the love, so I will never stop despite the challenges,” she confided.
JusKim hopes to release an EP later this year.
