Haynes and Roper promoted at BOJ
Natalie Haynes and E George Roper have each been promoted to deputy governor positions at the Bank of Jamaica, effective on the 18th of February, according to a release from the bank.
On that date Haynes will become deputy governor, Banking, Currency Operations and Financial Markets Infrastructure at the Bank of Jamaica for a five-year period as of 18 February 2019,
Haynes, who has served the bank for more than 31 years, possesses postgraduate qualifications in economics. She has held several leadership positions and currently serves as a member of the bank’s senior management team, holding the position of division chief, Banking and Market Operations Division.
In her new role, Haynes will have strategic oversight of two newly defined portfolios:Banking, Depository and Currency Operations and Financial Markets Infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Roper will become deputy governor, Finance, Technology and Administration also for a five-year period.
Roper, who is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom (FCCA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (FCA), is currently employed to the Bank in the capacity of supervision evaluation expert with specific responsibilities for leading the National Risk Assessment (NRA) Programme being coordinated by the Bank.
Before joining the bank, Roper held several executive-level positions including vice-president of Compliance at Scotiabank Group, deputy executive director of the Financial Services Commission and president and CEO of Mayo Holdings an audit, accounting and business advisory services firm.
In his new role, Roper will have responsibility for strategic oversight of Finance, Administration and the Information Technology and Records Management portfolios.
