Budget Debate: Gov’t to abolish minimum business tax
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Government is to abolish the minimum business tax of $60,000 effective at the start of the new financial year on April 1.
Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr Nigel Clarke made the announcement during his contribution to the 2019/2020 Budget Debate at Gordon House this afternoon.
The minister said the removal of the tax forms as part of the Government’s move to start giving back to the nation after almost 20 years of tax increases. He added that this move by government would incentivise micro and small business activity.
