The Annual 2019 Diplomatic Corps Dinner

Tuesday Social

Against the sounds of the Jamaica Military Band, resident and non-resident high commissioners and ambassadors to Jamaica, along with members of the Jamaican Senate and industry leaders, congregated at King’s House on Thursday, March 14. The occasion — the annual diplomatic corps dinner — saw bilateral relations strengthen over cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dinner provided by the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

Diplomatic Week is an annual event hosted under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. This year, with the theme of Building Stronger Partnerships for Sustainable Development, the week ran from Tuesday, March 12 to Friday, March 15. In addition to the King’s House dinner, scheduled events included the appointment of eight new heads of mission which include Ambassador-designate of the Hellenic Republic Anastassios Petrovas and Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan Andrian Yelemessov; and tours of Belcour Lodge, Craighton Estate and Strawberry Hill.
