Moyann On My Mind
A number of dancehall acts have emerged from Montego Bay recently. They include deejays Teejay, Rygin King, Jahvillani and Squash.
Singer Moyann, who hails from Retirement district, is aiming to become the city’s first female dancehall star. With songs such as Netflixxx and Chill, ABC 123 and Quite Alright gaining traction on radio and social media, she seems poised for a breakthrough.
“Musically, I hope to work as hard enough to be recognised as an international artiste. I want to make good music for my fans and be the best artiste that I can be,” she said.
Moyann has worked with established producers like Justus Arison of JA Productions, DJ Frass, DJ Sunshine’s Yellow Moon Records, and Chimney Records.
Her latest song, On My Mind, was produced by Chimney Records and is featured on the Fresh Paint rhythm. She said her outlook on life guides her music.
“I have my own unique style. I draw my inspiration from my own personal experiences, and my surroundings. I am a feminist and an independent woman, but I explore all kinds of themes in my music.”
