Performance analysis for Wednesday, April 3, 2019

RACE 1-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II (3YOS/NW2) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Based on showing good speed against the best of his age-group, Phenom, always prominent, beat a willing Enedina by 1 ½ lengths.

RACE 2-$250-200,000 CLAIMING (4YOS&UPWARDS) 1500METRES/7 1/2FURLONGS

Also Correct and Court Call had it between them from 700 metres out, with the latter staying on better to win by just over a length.

RACE 3-$350-300,000 CLAIMING (3-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

Major Force, in an unwise change from his customary tactic of coming from off the pace, disputed the lead with Foot Soldier and, although staying on well, ironically conceded victory by just over a length to Luana, whose rider reversed normal tactics by coming from just off the pace rather than taking the usual early lead.

RACE 4-$180-150,000 CLAIMING (5YOS&UPWARDS) 800METRES/4FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Song On Track held a clear advantage until passed entering the last 100 metres by the pursuing Awesome Cat, who scored by 1 ½ lengths.

RACE 5-OPEN ALLOWANCE (THREE-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1600 METRES/8FURLONGS

Although conceding significant weight, Houdini’s Magic engaged Stranger Danger for the first 1000 metres before being left behind by the undefeated United States-bred three-year-old. Stranger Danger’s five-length winning advantage over this trip suggests versatility and possible effectiveness over even longer distances.

RACE 6-MAIDEN CONDITION (FOUR-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

Alexa’s Star was the first to show but was soon joined by Secret Law and they raced together ahead of Ridewiththemob, tracking ominously in third. Striking the front 300 metres out, Ridewiththemob kept on well but only held on by a short head from Obsession, who was last but one at the home turn.

RACE 7-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE III (5YOS&UP/NW3/OT) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Aurelia’s Summer and Forest Rose disputed the lead for 800 metres, with the latter dropping away when it mattered. Left in front, Aurelia’s Summer ran well to ensure Willodeen’s late effort was repelled by 1 ½ lengths.

RACE 8- RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (5YOS&UPWARDS/NW3) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

Lady Exotic and Lady Carmen, tracked by Powerofgiving, battled fiercely from the top of the stretch — but none in this trio of main early contenders could repel the strong late run of Lady In the Arena.

RACE 9-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (4YOS&UPWARDS/NW3) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

Storm Born got a great start and held the lead approaching the distance, but came under pressure entering the last 200 metres. Both Miss In Kiss and Key Witnes s delivered successful challenges to the leader, but it was the latter who found extra in the driving finish to score by three-parts of a length.

RACE 10- MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT (THREE-YEAR-OLDS) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS ROUND

Apprentice Christopher Mamdeen, hoping to close a four-timer for his best day in a career which commenced in September 2018, had 7/2 choice Just Trick Me in front and had the field in trouble, as he never looked likely to be headed although running under pressure from the top of the straight.
