St James seek 10th-straight win today in basketball
MONTEGO BAY, St James — St James High will seek to close out the regular season or the ISSA Western Conference Boys’ Under-14 basketball with a perfect win record when they take on defending champions Herbert Morrison Technical, at Montego Bay Cricket Club today starting at 2:30 pm.
St James High won their ninth-straight game on Monday, beating Holland High 48-21, and will hope to make it 10-straight victories today.
Also today, third-placed Cornwall College will be seeking to snap their two-game losing skid when they take on Muschett High at Muschett in Wakefield, Trelawny.
St James High lead with 18 points, seven more than Herbert Morrison, who will have one more game to play after today with Cornwall College on nine points, and will have three more games to go in the regular season after today’s game.
York Castle High and Holland High are tied on seven points, with Muschett High at the foot of the table on six points.
On Monday, Jodel Williams scored a game-high 14 points for St James High, who outscored Holland High 40-13 over the final three quarters after the teams were tied at 8-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Giovanni Frank scored eight points and had 11 steals and eight rebounds for Holland High.
