MF&G’s Sensory Appeal

Wednesday Social

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, and presenting the first of several events in a year-long line-up, Myers, Fletcher & Gordon hosted a client appreciation shindig, dubbed ‘Sensory,’ on Sunday, April 14 at Boone Hall Oasis in St Andrew. The family of attorneys and professionals who have been committed to serving their clients, staff and The Rock since 1944, strengthened their love affair with the arts by inviting New Wave — curators of the art, live entertainment, and film components — to Sunday’s event. The Blueprint Consulting firm handled the look and feel of the event, contributing its expertise in production. Sensory was indeed a collaborative effort.

Why Sensory? MF&G has one of the most extensive private art collections in Jamaica and, having orchestrated a large two-day art exhibition for their 70th anniversary event — which was a juxtaposition of modern and traditional Jamaican art — the team decided to shift focus and celebrate new talent, while expanding their range to showcase more creative mediums via film, photography, music and cuisine. Sensory was planned and executed by MF&G associates Gabrielle Grant, Alyssa Chin, Shaniel May and Antwan Cotterell, with the guidance of MF&G partner and Head of Marketing Simone Bowie Jones.

The art exhibit was presented by a band of photographers, graphic designers, visual artists and ceramicists. They included Natali Daley, Natasha Cunningham, Anna-K Cuffe, the Artistic Mermaid, Symoné Currie, Richard Nattoo, Nickii Kane, Lorrian McMaster, Rebecca Levy, and Jude Issa. A pop-up theatre displayed films from the likes of Pierre McLean, Gabrielle Blackwood, Rand Francis, and Jamieson Daley, who presented shorts with a national pride theme.

Meanwhile, throughout the day, guests sipped CPJ cocktails with an MF&G stamp, and savoured scrumptious bites from House of Loaves, J Jakes Catering, Ballerina’s Bakery, 2KChefs and Pink Apron.

Wednesday Social anticipates even more culturally exuberant events from the MF&G team.
