Water supply disruption continues with Spanish Town Road pipeline repairs — NWC
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that the Spanish Town Road distribution line in St Andrew will remain out of operation as repairs continue along a section of the 33-inch pipeline.
According to NWC, an assessment of the transmission line that was shut down late on Friday night showed that extensive work is required and this is slated to take approximately 36 -48 hours for completion.
The NWC, in a statement today, said that it will be making every effort to complete the necessary repairs by midnight on Sunday, April 21.
Areas to be affected include: Marcus Garvey Drive, Spanish Town Road and all roads leading off, sections of Washington Gardens, Cooreville Gardens, and New Haven.
Meanwhile, operations have been restarted at the Constant Spring Treatment Plant and water is now being restored to the communities served by the plant, the NWC said.
