MONTEGO BAY, St James — Defending champions Catherine Hall All-Stars will go after a third-straight win today when they take on winless Lucea Flames in the Western Basketball Association’s Elite League at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, set to start at 7:00 pm.

Catherine Hall All-stars have won both games so far, while Lucea Flames have lost all three games and are at the foot of the points table.

Cricket Club Knights’ winning start came to an end on Saturday when they were beaten by Holland Saints 81-71 at the Montego Bay Cricket Club.

Cricket Club Knights, who were going after a fourth-straight win to start the season, led through the first two quarters, but Holland came back in the second half to win their second game.

In the first game of the double-header, Sav-Elite Titans won for the first time this season with a big 26 points (73-46) beating of winless Cornwall Courts Chargers.

Despite the loss, Cricket Club Knights are still leading the tables with seven points from four games, followed by Granville Jaguars with six points from their three wins; Holland Saints are also on six points from four games with Montego Bay Boys Club Warriors in fourth place with five points.

On four points are defending champions Catherine Hall All-Stars, Sav-Elite Titans and Cornwall Courts Chargers with Lucea Flames on three points from their three games.

Antonio Spence and Rayan Gardiner both had double-doubles for Knights, who got off to a fast start and were up 26-18 after the first half before Saints trimmed the deficit to five points (45-40) at half-time.

The Trelawny team took over in the third quarter and was up by one point (59-58) going into the fourth quarter.

Kenrick Lindo had a double-double for Holland with 14 points and 13 rebounds with Michael Johnson scoring a game-high 23 points, Alex Levy scored 18 points and had nine rebounds, while Ricardo Brooks scored 10 points.

Spence scored 18 points and had 16 rebounds, Gardiner scored 13 points and had 10 assists as Jermaine Allwood and Jhaun Bryan both scored 10 points.

In the first game, Shelmar Bromfield and Rushane Drummond both scored double-doubles for Sav-Elite Titans, who got of to a fast start and continued to increase their advantage as the game went on.

Sav-Elite led 21-8 after the first quarter and increased their advantage in the second quarter, leading 37-18 at half time and 53-36 at the end of the third quarter.

Bromfield scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds and Drummond scored 17 points and had 15 rebounds with Androy Clarke scoring 10 points, coming off the bench.

Franz Clennon scored 12 points and had nine rebounds to lead Cornwall Courts, while Adrian Campbell scored nine points and Leonardo Friginette scored eight and had five rebounds.
