Booba Starr is pleased with the great response to his mento-inspired single Long-go-lala.

“The song’s popularity is growing in the streets of Jamaica, and is getting a lot of love all around Jamaica in the dancehall and on the radio. It’s great to know that years of hard work is finally starting to pay off for me,” said Booba Starr.

The artiste currently finishing up his seven-track EP entitled the Girls Dem Way.

“Most of the songs will be fun songs, dedicated to the women in the dancehall who are being ignored because of the all the gun songs and money songs coming out now. I am going in a different creative direction and I believe it will pay off,” he said.

Born Dane Salmon in Kingston, he relocated to Greater Portmore area of St Catherine. Shortly after leaving high school, he began to hone his skills and began performing on the Hard Drive sound system.

In 2010, Booba Starr was introduced to Trevor “TC” Clarke, producer and owner of Jafrika Records, who produced his first single, Things Change. During that same period, Booba Starr also produced other recordings with other producers.

In 2011, Booba Starr invested in his own recording studio and began to record his own music.

Now, he is ready to take things to the next level.
