Anticipation is fever pitch for Lionsgate Studios’ star-studded, whodunnit crime mystery Knives Out set to grace silver screens this November.

Knives Out, a remake (of sorts) of the 1974 horror classic Black Christmas, promises a thrilling, comedic ride as cinemagoers get a refreshing, modern reminder that there is life in the old-fashioned detective genre.

Boasting the talents of Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette and Lakeith Stanfield – Knives Out, written and directed by Rian Johnson, is shaping up to be the most-awaited film this fall.

The film follows wealthy crime novelist

Harlan Thrombey, who invites his extended dysfunctional family to his remote

mansion on his 85th birthday in hopes of reuniting them all.

Of course, plans go horribly awry just

hours after the birthday party, as Harlan is found dead by members of the

family the next day.

It is up to experienced detective Benoit

Blanc, who’s called in to investigate the case.

Soon enough, everyone in the eccentric,

combative family becomes a suspect in the patriarch’s ‘death’.

Critics can’t get enough of the Agatha Christie-inspired murder mystery film, after Knives Out’s successful world premiere screening at the Toronto Film Festival earlier in September.

Still a month away from its theatrical release, American review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes notes that Knives Out holds an approval rating of 98 percent – declaring the film ‘certified fresh’.

Metacritic, which uses a weighted average,

assigned the film a score of 83 out of 100 based on 18 critics, indicating

“universal acclaim”.
