#Doha2019: McLeod may be out of World Champs; says thanks for Jamaica’s support
Jamaica’s 110m hurdler Omar McLeod may be out for the remainder of the World Championship in Doha, Qatar.
The track star took a tumble during the 110m hurdles final on Wednesday (Oct 2) and did not finish the race. During an interview following the event, McLeod blamed an issue with his hamstring for his performance.
McLeod, who was in the pool of athletes for the upcoming men’s 4×100 metres, said he believes his championship is over. He said he doesn’t feel the issue with his hamstring will allow him to run another race.
The 2017 World Champion thanked Jamaicans for their unwavering support.
“Thank you so much. Thank you for believing in me. I believe in myself first, but when you have a nation that is behind you 100 per cent, I am very grateful. Thank you guys so much as you knew that I have what it takes, but unfortunately it didn’t happen,” he said.
