Expectant moms across America are craving this burger ‘because it induces labour’
Pregnant women across the country are flocking to a restaurant in Minnesota for the burger they hope will induce their labour.
It all started with Kelsey Quarberg, co-owner of The Suburban, the restaurant that serves the burger in question. She was taste-testing new burgers two weeks before her due date when something unexpected happened.
“I figured I’m almost nine months pregnant, I can have as many cheeseburgers as I want! I ate the whole cheeseburger and probably finished around 8 p.m. that night and by 2 a.m. that night I had gone into labour,” she told Inside Edition.
Thus, the Labor Inducer was born. But don’t take Quarberg’s word for it. Other satisfied moms are also saying it worked for them.
“We came in on my due date … resigned to the fact that I was going to be pregnant for another week, so of course, I had to get the burger, it was fate, ate the whole thing, and at 10 p.m. that night started having contractions and had [my daughter] shortly after,” Katy Engel told Inside Edition.
So what’s so special about the burger? “It’s just really greasy and indulgent — I think it was the greasy food that my body needed to motivate me to just relax, kick back and push out this baby,” said Quarberg.
