You don’t say… Devin Di Dakta wore wig for a music video
Devin di Dakta sent social media into a frenzy recently when he posted a
photo on Instagram of himself wearing a wig.
When the photo was shared, the reactions were mostly negative.

However, many persons are now singing a different tune after Devin shared
his new song, Internet, as the photo was from a scene in the track’s music
video. The song highlights the consequences of using social media in this age.
“Followers nuh pay yuh bills, fame nuh buy yuh tings/ Full a likes anddead fi hungry can’t even buy a drink,” Devin deejays in the song.
Since the music video was premiered on Friday, it has received more than
125,000 views on YouTube with more than 15,000 thumbs up.
“Jamaica and the world definitely needs more messages like this,” one
viewer said.
“More artistes need fi be like Devin and think outside the box,” another
fan added.
While the comments were generally good, some persons insisted that it was
not necessary for him to wear a wig in the video.
“I get what you’re trying to do. I just don’t like any man emasculating
himself for views and likes,” one person said.
However, Devin isn’t daunted by the negative reaction. He took to
Instagram on Friday evening in defense of his creative choices.
“I DO NOT, nor do I intend, to make music for ignorant people. Any day for the rest of my life you guys see me create something and any person or group feel offended, please don’t look out for an apology from me…”
