Try this nighttime skincare routine to get the perfect glow

Try this nighttime skincare routine to get the perfect glow

Your skin naturally repairs itself at night, so your night-time routine should provide treatment and give your skin all it needs to glow the next day.

And BUZZ has the remedy to give you just that.

STEP 1: CLEANSER

As soon as you are settled, get rid of the day’s dirt or makeup from your skin. We recommend removing your makeup first with an oil-based cleanser or makeup remover. Wash face in lukewarm water with cleanser, to remove all the excess dirt and makeup. This leaves your skin fresh and perfectly prepped to absorb your skin regimen.

STEP 2: TONERS

Apply toner as you would in the morning after washing your face. If you run out of toner, you can mix apple cider vinegar with cold water and apply.

STEP 3: EYE CREAM

Eye creams are used to protect your delicate eye area from your other skincare products.

Generally, you’d want to apply your eye cream before your treatments to protect your eye area from strong ingredients that which could cause irritation.

STEP 4: TREATMENT SERUMS

Our skin mostly repairs, restores and regenerates at nights when we sleep. This is why most skincare treatments are better used at night. However, instead of layering up all your treatment serums and creams, your evening treatment should be chosen based on your skin condition. Too many care steps can increase the risk of irritation and decrease the likelihood of a clear skin. Some nights, you may just wash, moisturise and then go to bed.

Here are other considerations:

[naviga:ul]

[naviga:li]Choose between prescription meds OR exfoliative treatments. If you use both on the same night, you increase your risk of irritating your skin.[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Just like prescription meds, don’t use retinol creams on the same night as exfoliative treatments.[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Exfoliative treatments: Use these sparingly, one to three times a week.[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Detoxifying/Clay Masks: For most people, once a week is plenty.[/naviga:li]

[/naviga:ul]

STEP 5: HYDRATING MASK OR FACE OIL

If your skin is dry, you may want to add a hydrating cream mask or face oil (e.g: Argan oil or Aloe Vera oil). Both product types are generally mild and can be used if your skin needs that extra boost of hydration.

STEP 6: MOISTURIZER OR NIGHT CREAM

Night moisturisers or creams are generally thicker and heavier, as they are designed to be absorbed over the course of several hours. It creates a protective layer on the skin to prevent water evaporation while you sleep. Maintaining a high-water content in the skin is key for healing and maintaining healthy skin. If you are using the right moisturiser, it should be your last step. You can use products like Cetaphil Rich Hydrating Night Cream or the Goop Replenishing Night Cream.
