Flippa Mafia gets high school diploma in prison
Jamaicans often say: ‘Wah nuh dead, nuh dash it weh’, and that might be
the case for incarcerated deejay Flippa Mafia, as he recently got his high school
diploma.
The revelation was made on Tuesday night via the entertainer’s Instagram
page. The diploma was presented by the State of New Jersey on April 16, 2019.
Although there wasn’t much of a caption to accompany the picture of the
certificate, that did not stop fans and well-wishers from congratulating
Flippa, whose real name is Andrew Davis.
“Dat mi a talk bout, use the time to beat times,” one person said. “Bless
up fam. Keep yuh head up uzeet and congrats pon di achievement,” another added.
The deejay, who also goes by the names ‘Flippa Moggela’ and ‘Flossing
King’, is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence in the United States. In
2015, he was found guilty of first-degree distribution of cocaine,
second-degree money laundering, and second-degree conspiracy. He will become eligible
for parole in 2025.
