Fashion: Let’s Rock Crocs
Love them or loathe them, Crocs are this summer’s ‘it’ shoes, thanks to an Instagram post from rap star Nicki Minaj that went viral. The Seeing Green rapper shared her first social media post since January, posing semi-nude, save for a pair of well-placed heart pillows and pink Crocs bedazzled with Chanel jewels. The fashion statement caused a stir, with her loyal community of fans, aka The Barbz, scurrying to grab a pair. The Crocs e-commerce website reportedly crashed that night.
The impact was global, and of course fans on The Rock quickly joined in. “We’re out of all small sizes in pink,” explained Kelia Levy, manager at Crocs Liguanea. She says the demand for Crocs in electric pink shot to an all-time high immediately after Minaj’s post.
