Stop wearing party colours after election
Dear Editor,
I totally appreciate politicians wearing party colours during an election campaign, or when attending a party conference or function. What I do not agree with is seeing an elected official wearing party colours while working for the people in his constituency.
I daresay, when a politician has been duly elected, he is not only elected to serve his/her party supporters, but everyone in his constituency, whether or not they voted for him/her.
This practice by some politicians to only serve to promote division within the constituency gives the impression that they are only there to serve the people who elected them.
It’s full time the Political Ombudsman is given the authority to sanction some of these self-serving politicians who believe that the funds from the constituency development fund (CDF) assigned to each Member of Parliament is to be used as payback for party support.
These are but my views.
