23-y-o St Elizabeth farmer on firearm, wounding charges
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A farmer is now facing charges of wounding with intent, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following allegations that he was among a group of men who shot a businessman in St Elizabeth on Friday, November 2, last year.
Charged is 23-year-old Shawn Lewis otherwise called ‘Showayne’ of Vinyard district in the parish.
According to police reports, the complainant was at his business place when he was pounced upon by Lewis and other men armed with handguns about 9:00 pm. The complainant was then reportedly shot several times. However, he was taken to the hospital where he was treated and admitted in stable condition.
The police said Lewis was arrested in June of this year and placed on an identification parade where he was positively identified.
He was subsequently charged and is to appear in court soon.
