KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 188 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths on Thursday, July 21, bringing the infection total to 145,345 and total deaths to 3,181.

The new cases comprise 116 females and 72 males, with ages ranging from 10 months to 95 years.

The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (59), St James (36), St Catherine (35), St Ann (12), St Elizabeth (nine), St Thomas (eight), Westmoreland (seven), Clarendon (seven), Portland (five), St Mary (three), Trelawny (three), Hanover (two) and Manchester (two).

The deceased are:

June 2022

· A 43-year-old male from Clarendon

· A 47-year-old male from Clarendon

· An 88-year-old female from Clarendon

July 2022

· A 52-year-old female from Clarendon

· A 61-year-old female from Clarendon

There were 103 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 92,887.

Currently, 95 people are hospitalised, 24 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and one critically ill.

Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 24.1 per cent.
