ST ANN, Jamaica— Faulkland FC of St James were on Sunday crowned the first champions of the Jamaica Football Federation Tier Two competition after beating Chapelton Maroons 3-0 in the final played at Drax Hall in St Ann.

Faulkland, who topped the points tables after the regular season, were beating the Clarendon-based team for the second time this season after beating them 3-2 in the regular season.

Both teams had qualified for the Jamaica Premier League after winning their semi-final ties against Falmouth United and Treasure Beach respectively.

Tavane Kerr gave Faulkland the lead after nine minutes when he beat goalkeeper Romeo Daniels with a shot high into the top of the goal from the edge of the 18-yard box.

The St James team doubled their lead three minutes into the second half when Renaldo McLeish was fed the ball on the right side of the 18 yards box and powered past Daniels at his near left post.

Chapelton had a chance to pull a goal back but Faulkland FC’s goalkeeper Gareth Dennis saved a penalty kick in the 58th minute and substitute Radcliff Dawkins added a third goal in the 82nd minute to put the game out of reach of Chapleton Maroons.
