The event saw senior members from the People’s National Party (PNP) taking to the stage to heap praises on Paulwell, who started his political career in 1995 as a Senator and Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry Investment and Commerce under the then governing PNP administration.

PNP secretary, Dayton Campbell, also heaped praises on Paulwell highlighting the strides he made in the transportation and telecommunications sector.

“The used car policy that make people can drive car and everybody can have them own vehicle was led and piloted by Comrade Phillip Paulwell. And my brethren Roger Clarke, of blessed memory, seh right now we have two phone, so me can take one call the next one because of Comrade Phillip Paulwell and the liberalization of the telecomms sector,” Campbell said in his tribute to the longstanding MP.

“And so, we are here this evening to give our support to a good comrade. I want Comrade Paulwell to know that his service is appreciated. And we appreciate what you bring to the movement. And going forward you can’t stay on the sidelines you haffi come inna the party and play a full role leading the party forward with your service and your experience that you’ve garnered over the years to ensure that this movement can rescue this country,” added Campbell.

The large crowd also heard video messages of support for Paulwell from former PNP leader, PJ Patterson, as well as, other rank and file members of the party who were unable to attend.
