Sagicor provides free medicals to students at wellness fair
PRIMARY and secondary school students were able to get free medicals done courtesy of the Sagicor Wellness Fair which was held on the lawns of Devon House on Saturday, August 20. Led by the Sagicor Life Wellness Unit, adults in attendance also received free health checks.
Aligned with Sagicor Life’s ‘Do it For Yourself’ wellness campaign, the fair focused on promoting mental, physical, and financial well-being among Jamaicans.
“Back-to-school is in full swing, so we wanted to give parents and guardians an opportunity to get their children’s medicals done free of cost while simultaneously getting their own health checks,” shared Willard Brown, executive vice-president, Employee Benefits Division, Sagicor Life.
“Sagicor Life is always implementing ways for Jamaicans to get engaged in wellness, and this fair was held to not only inform them of how they can get their minds, bodies, and finances right, but to also have the interactions on the ground to guide them,” he continued.
Sagicor Bank, Sagicor Investments, Advantage General Insurance Company, and Alliance Financial Services were also on location and offered well-received financial sessions.
Parent Nekisha Thorpemuir, who took advantage of the wellness opportunities provided, shared her appreciation for the tour. “I saw the advertisement on Facebook and decided to stop by. Most parents, like myself, don’t have the time to go out in the week to the health centres, so this was very convenient,” she remarked.
