UPDATE: Cops identify men killed in Olympic Gardens double murders
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police have identified the four men who were killed in two separate double murders in Olympic Gardens, St Andrew this afternoon.
Killed in the first incident on Welcome Avenue are Andre Clarke, otherwise called Bull Head, and Jermaine Morgan. Another man was admitted after he was shot in that attack.
Police said in the first incident, which occurred about 4:15 pm, Clarke, Morgan and the now-injured man, were among a group of people at a shop when two men rode up on a blue motorbike.
The men on the motorbike opened gunfire on the group hitting the three as others fled in different directions. The men then escaped on the motorbike in the area.
The three were taken to hospital where Clarke and Morgan were pronounced dead, and the other man was rushed to surgery. His current condition is not known.
It was while police personnel were still processing that crime scene, that gunmen launched the other attack. Police have not yet released the details of that shooting, but at least one other person was injured and admitted to hospital.
Those killed in the second incident, which occurred on McDonald Lane, an area known as Compound, are Maurice Stephen, 24, from Rhoden Crescent in the community, and Andy Christian, 39, from a Kingston 19 address.
