Improvement work may cause service disruptions for some JPS customers
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) is advising customers that critical maintenance work at its Orange Bay substation may cause disruptions in power supply to customers in sections of Hanover and Westmoreland.
In a release on Friday, the light and power company expressed that although it is taking all the necessary steps to minimise disruptions while the maintenance work is in progress, the latter may still be a possibility.
The works, which will continue over the next week up to September 16, could affect approximately 20,000 customers in the following areas: Sandy Bay, Tryall, Lucea, Askenish, Maryland, Savannah-la-Mar, Mount Peto, Cousins Cove, Whitehall, West End, and Norman Manley Boulevard.
The company is assuring customers who may be temporarily inconvenienced that every effort is being made to complete the improvement work as soon as possible.
