JPS investigating death of Westmoreland contractor
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) says that it is investigating the death of a third-party contractor employed to Western Electrical and Construction Limited, who died from injuries sustained Friday afternoon, September 16.
The JPS confirmed that preliminary reports are that the incident occurred in Shafton, Westmoreland, while the contractor was conducting upgrading works on the JPS power line.
“JPS is expressing profound sadness at his passing and expresses sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues at Western Electrical and Construction Limited,” the JPS said in a statement Sunday afternoon.
