Police seeking identity of man shot dead outside Clarendon school
CLARENDON, Jamaica – The Chapelton police say they are still trying to ascertain the identity of a man who was shot by a police officer outside the Rock River Primary school on Monday afternoon.
Preliminary reports are that shortly after midday, the police were called to the location following a disturbance allegedly being caused by the man who has been identified only by his alias ‘Alric’.
It is reported that an altercation developed between the man and the cop who shot him.
He was later pronounced dead at hospital.
The police’s Corporate Communications Unit has confirmed the incident but was unable to provide further information, noting that the investigation is still in a very early stage.
The matter has been reported to INDECOM.
