Hennessy Pure White returns

THE Heroes’ Weekend party scene kicked off with the fifth staging of Hennessy Pure White in Ocho Rios, St Ann, last Friday. It was the first staging of the event since 2020.

The elite affair, first held in St Mary, was held at the Ocean Village, Ocho Rios, St Ann.

“After the whole COVID, we really went back to the drawing board and decided that we can’t stick to just St Mary anymore. We wanted to provide a whole new experience. So, we brought it to ‘Ochi’ to attract a bigger audience that would gravitate towards the event and so far, so good,” said Hennessy Pure White promoter Phillip McKenzie.

The crowd saw an interesting mix of international patrons and locals who came out to have a grand time.

“I flew in from New York to experience the Heroes’ Weekend celebration in Jamaica and I’m loving the vibe at Hennessy Pure White… can’t wait for Frenchmen tomorrow,” Pat Lewis, who is of Jamaican heritage, disclosed.

While some partygoers came for the fun, others came for the fashion, in true all-white style. Guests came out rocking white pants suits, skirt sets, dresses, and statement tops with flashiest embellishments.

One patron, Shanneila Stone, was confident in her look and credited a popular local designer for her look.

“It’s an all-white event so I had to get the trendiest outfit. My outfit is from the big, bad designer Brand Marco,” she explained.

According to another member of the Hennessy Pure White team, they faced many obstacles along the way, but realigned each time and made things work.

“I just want to say a big thank you to all sponsors on behalf of my team [because] there is no I in team and there were a lot of sleepless nights, phone calls and messages and I can’t even begin to tell you how much we put into this. We put our plans and plans failed, but we went back to the drawing board to wheel and come again,” said Lamar Sutherland.

Hennessy Pure White boasted a line-up of local and international DJs who kept patrons dancing, rocking, and singing away to their favourite hit songs all night.

Among the DJs who provided the musical delights at the event were DJ Ashile, DJ Kidd and Entourage, DJ DMX and Kaz, and DJ Niney Badness.

Enjoying the vibes.
