Cops seek cousin for raping of 16-y-o schoolgirl
CLARENDON,Jamaica- Police have launched a manhunt for the cousin of a 16-year-old schoolgirl, who is accused of raping her in Clarendon.
The incident reportedly happened in June but was reported to the police last weekend after the girl’s family was made aware of her ordeal.
Police have declined to give the name of the relative for fear that the student could be identified.
It was reported that sometime after 9:00 am on June 30, 2022, the child was on her way to school when she took a taxi that was being operated by the suspect.
While on their way to the institution, the man drove into a lane and stopped the car.
He then went into the front passenger seat where the 16-year-old was sitting, drew down her tights and underwear and then had sex with her against her will.
The child did not say anything until recently. Family members got wind of the incident and the matter was subsequently reported to the police.
