Jamaica off to slow start at Fast5
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica got off to a poor start in the Fast5 Netball World Series that started in Christchurch, New Zealand on Friday (Jamaican time), losing their first three games including to debutantes Uganda.
The Jamaicans who were runners up in 2019 lost 39-15 to Australia in their opening game, then went down 33-22 to Uganda before being edged 28-27 by South Africa in a nail biter.
The Jamaicans will face England and New Zealand on the second day (late Saturday Jamaican time) when the round robin continues before the play-offs for the places are set to start.
Australia won all three games played on the first day and are the only unbeaten team; England and South Africa won two games each and lost one with New Zealand and Uganda recording one win each and losing two.
