Summit of Speed sees foreign filly Madelyn’s Sunshine against the rest
The three-year-old and upwards Open Allowance call for the MBet Summit of Speed Trophy is the main attraction of the four trophy events to be contested on the 10-race programme tomorrow. Seven runners are declared to face the starter over six furlongs (1,200m).
Below is the analysis of each runner.
1. EL PROFESOR: (7 b g by Casual Trick – The Principal) – Ran well to finish 5 ¼ lengths in third place behind Excessive Force and Madelyn‘s Sunshine in the recent Port Royal Sprint over tomorrow’s distance. With Madelyn’s Sunshine again present, El Profesor‘s chances of winning become limited.
2. MADELYN’S SUNSHINE (USA): (3 dk b f by Jose’s Son Joey – Madelyn’s Finest) – Talented runner who has won four races from six starts. Madelyn’s Sunshine‘s last effort was in the Port Royal Sprint where she was beaten by Excessive Force by a length and a quarter. If she can reproduce that run, then Madelyn’s Sunshine will be unsaddled in the winners’ enclosure.
3. HOVER CRAFT: (12 b g by He’stherealthing – Royal Pizzaz) – Old warrior who finished fifth behind stablemates Miniature Man and Lure of Lucy in the Chairman’s Plate over nine furlongs and 25 yards on December 3. This trip will be too intense for Hover Craft at this age.
4. EAGLE ONE (USA): (5 b g by Astrology – Frisky Cheerleader) – Finished down the track in the Mouttet Mile on December 3. Eagle One can be safely bypassed.
5. DUKE: (6 gr h by Casual Trick – Lady MacBeth) – Ran the race of his life when finishing second to Excessive Force in the Mouttet Mile on December 3. Duke makes a quick turnaround to compete here but is talented enough to have a say.
6. ALEXA’S DREAM: (4 ch f by Berlino Di Tiger – Alexa’s Song) – Against these, cannot get a winning vote.
7. GOD OF LOVE: (6 b g by Adore the Gold— Shanda D)—A dependable runner who always gives his all in every race. God of Love was a winner on last but faces a tough favourite in Madelyn’s Sunshine. God of Love should fill the exacta spot.
