WATCH: KC’s Watson proud despite Champions Cup defeat
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Head coach of Kingston College (KC), Raymond ‘Stampy’ Watson says he is proud of his side’s fighting spirit despite their loss to Jamaica College (JC) in the Champions Cup final on Saturday.
The ‘Purples’ were defeated 2-1 in the title decider at the National Stadium.
Maquan Aldridge and Tarick Ximines had given Jamaica College a two-goal advantage before Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards pulled a goal back for KC late in the game to set up an exciting finish.

Speaking with OBSERVER ONLINE after the game, Watson expressed pride in his charges.
“It was a very good game, congratulations to Jamaica College,” Watson said. “I am very happy, very proud of my team, we showed a lot of fighting spirit coming from two goals down and I thought we had some very good moments to (equalize).”
The loss means KC end the season without silverware as they were dethroned in the urban area Manning Cup, bowing out in the semifinals with a defeat by St Andrew Technical.
JC went on to win the Manning Cup and, after their Champions Cup triumph on Saturday, now have their sights firmly set on a clean sweep of the major titles in the 2022 ISSA/Digicel/WATA schoolboy football season.
The Old Hope Road-based institution will square off against rural area daCosta Cup champions Clarendon College for the Olivier Shield on Wednesday.
