St Ann man charged with assault at common law
TWENTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD Joash Smith of Eltham in St Ann was charged with assault at common law following an incident at his home on Saturday, December 31.
The Ocho Rios police reported that at about 7:00 pm on the day in question, Smith and his brother were arguing when Smith went to the kitchen and returned with a knife. It is alleged that he threatened and attacked his brother. The complainant, who is a licensed firearm holder, allegedly fired a shot to ward off his attacker.
Smith was later taken into custody where he was subsequently charged.
He is scheduled to appear before the St Ann Parish Court on Thursday, January 5.
