ISSA all-island basketball playoffs tip off today

ISSA all-island basketball playoffs tip off today

ST JAMES, Jamaica – The ISSA national high school boys basketball playoffs are set to get underway on Thursday with four games, two each in the Under-16 and Under-19 age groups, with western champions Herbert Morrison Technical hosting a doubleheader.

Herbert Morrison will face Central Conference runners-up Manchester High in an Under-16 Zone A game at Herbert Morrison starting at 1:00 pm, followed by the Under-19 game at 2:30 pm against Central runners-up Munro College.

Southern Conference Under-16 champions St George’s College will host Jamaica College, while Under-19 winners Calabar High hosts Campion, both games are set to start at 3:30 pm.

Sixteen teams have qualified for the playoffs, which continue on Friday with four more games including a double-header at Manchester High.

Eight teams in both age groups have been divided into two groups of four each and they will play each other once before the top two teams on points advance to the semi-finals set to be played on February 7th with the final set for three days later.
