Man accused of stealing over $1m worth of products
A man was dragged before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday after he was accused of stealing over $1 million worth of products.
The man, Dean Thomas, pleaded not guilty to receiving stolen property, malicious destruction of property and simple larceny when he stood before Senior Parish Judge Lori-Ann Cole-Montague.
It is alleged that between December 29 and December 30, the complainant left a black bag inside his vehicle, which was parked on the road in his community. The court was told that Thomas allegedly broke into the vehicle and stole the bag, with its contents valuing over $1 million.
Reports are that on January 8, a search was conducted at Thomas’ residence where some of the items belonging to the complainant were found.
He was later arrested and charged.
Given that the file is incomplete, with further statements from the complainant and the apprehending officer outstanding, the judge ordered Thomas to return to court on February 21 when it is anticipated that the file will be completed.
Thomas was remanded and a fingerprint order was also made for him.
