Vybz Kartel’s Fever certified silver in the UK
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Fever, a 2016 hit single by dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel was certified silver in the United Kingdom on Friday by the British Phonographic Industry.
The certification commemorates more than 200,000 units sold.
Fever was never a chart hit in the United Kingdom. Kartel’s only entry on that chart to date is a collaboration with Zena titled Been Around the World which peaked at number 44 in 2003.
Fever is featured on Kartel’s 2016 album King of the Dancehall, which peaked at number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The song rose to number 23 on Billboard’s Rap Airplay chart and number 36 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart in 2017.
Fever was certified gold for sales and streaming equivalent exceeding 500,000 units in the United States in February 2020.
The song is a co-production between Kartel’s Adidjahiem Records and Linton ‘TJ’ White.
