Arnett Gardens back in second place in JPL

(KINGSTON, Jamaica) – Arnett Gardens are back in second place in the Jamaica Premier League after edging Waterhouse FC 1-0 in their second-round game at the Anthony Spaulding Complex on Monday.

Arnett Gardens have won their last five games since they lost to Dunbeholden FC and then drew against Faulkland FC in back-to-back games and moved to 33 points, two behind leaders Mt Pleasant FA and one more than Cavalier FC who slipped to third place.

Waterhouse fell behind Portmore United with the two teams in a virtual tie on 21 points and identical 14 goals for and 11 against.

Fabian Reid scored his eighth goal of the season when he completed a good combination from close range as Arnett Gardens got the better of Waterhouse for the second time this season.

In the first game of the double-header, defending champion Harbour View beat Dunbeholden United 2-0 to close the points gap on fourth-placed Humble Lion.

Humble Lion, who were held 0-0 by Faulkland FC on Sunday, are on 28 points – two more than Harbour View, who completed the season sweep over Dunbeholden after beating then 4-1 in the first round.

Shamari Dyer scored his first goal of the season when he opened the scoring in the 59th minute before Colorado Murray came off the bench to double the

advantage in the 68th minute.
