Jermaine Edwards’ Beautiful Day climbs the Billboard charts

Since its re-release in February, with additional vocals from Rushawn and Prinz, Jermaine Edwards’ almost nine-year-old hit Beautiful Day continues to make moves on the charts.

The song recently charted on the UK’s Official Top 100 (it peaked at number 63) and it has now made its transition over to the US, where it rests at number 26 on the latest US Afrobeats Songs chart. It slips from seven to 10 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart.

Beautiful Day was first released in 2014 and was featured on Edwards’ album Don’t Count Me Out, which was issued by ISLANDWORSHIP. Still on the Billboard charts, Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers clocks 167 non-consecutive weeks in the number one spot on the Reggae Albums chart.

Shaggy holds down the bridesmaid position at number two with Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection, while Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics Collection is at three.

Wisdom by Stick Figure is at four, while Greatest Hits by UB40 dips one spot to five.

Stick Figure’s World on Fire and Set in Stone are six and seven, while Great is He by Popcaan steps up to number eight.

Gifted by Koffee re-enters at nine and Outside by Burna Boy is steady at 10.

Moving now to the South Florida Reggae chart, Sometimes When We Touch by King Banton takes over the number one position.

Desperate Lover by Tarrus Riley bolts from nine to five, while Etana’s Don’t Let Me Go bullets from 16 to 13.

This week’s new entries are Hold Me Thrill Me by Audley Rollen (#21), Black is a Colour by Robert Ffrench (#23) and Beautiful Woman by Glen Washington (#24).

Young Gyal Business (remix) by Chaka Demus and Pliers, featuring Renner, spends a second week at the top of the New York Reggae chart.

God is Amazing by Busy Signal darts from 15 to 12, while Just Say Yes by Terry Linen rises from eight to five. Going Home by veteran singer Mikey Spice gains from 28 to 24.

I am Not That Guy by Ed Robinson (#28) and All I’ll Ever Ask by D Major (#29) are this week’s new entries.
